What to Expect From a Pedicure

So much more goes into a pedicure than simply applying nail polish to toenails. In fact, pedicures offer an indulgent, encompassing treatment that helps keep toenails and feet hydrated and healthy.

First, your pedicure technician will cut the toenails and shape them with a cushion file. This helps to prevent ingrown toenails. Next, your feet are refreshed with a hot soak using a specialized bath. Once soaked, the technician will remove all dead skin, calluses and hard skin with a foot file, pumice stone and expertly blended oils. A scrub is also used to ensure feet are as smooth and soft as possible.

After this, your feet are dried with a fluffy towel and lotion or oils are applied with our signature massage. Melt into your chair and enjoy a relaxing massage that will help you de-stress and unwind.

Once your feet and soft and relaxed, polish will be applied to the toenails in your choice of color. A high-quality base coat, two coats of lacquer and a topcoat are applied to ensure polish remains chip-free for as long as possible.

The entire pedicure process is relaxing, soothing and will make your feet look their best.

How Frequently Should You Get A Pedicure?
The answer to this question hugely depends on your lifestyle and needs. If you play sport regularly or are on your feet all day for your job, you’ll need more regular pedicures to maintain the benefits. However, if you have an office job and are sat down most of the day, you may be able to go a little longer between treatments.

We usually recommend coming in for pedicures every three to four weeks. But if you’d like to come in more or less often, that’s totally fine too. You may find you want more regular treatments in the summertime when your feet are out on display, but less frequent treatments during the winter when your feet are covered most of the time. Overall, it’s whatever feels right to you.

Benefits of Pedicures
Pedicures come with a whole host of benefits that make them the perfect addition to your self-care ritual. Let’s take a look at some of the most important benefits here:

1. Promote Health and Wellbeing
Having a pedicure is time to relax and unwind. You can forget about the stress of life and allow yourself some quiet time to recharge and reflect. This can do wonders for your mental health and give you a positive outlook.

2. Help Prevent Infection
Your technician is trained to find any issues you may have. This includes ingrown toenails, bunions, corns, fungal infections and ingrown toenails. All of these can cause major issues if left untreated, so seeing a pedicurist regularly will help alert you to any underlying problems.

Plus, during your pedicure, the dirt will be removed from under your toenails using a special tool. This will help stop infections before they occur, keeping your feet free from issues such as athlete’s foot and cellulitis.

3. Boost Your Circulation
Massaging the feet and legs is a great way to boost circulation and get the lymphatic system moving. This helps pump the blood flow to your lower legs and feet. If you have a sedentary job or suffer from poor circulation, this will do wonders to help reduce pain and inflammation in the legs and feet.

4. Remove Dead or Unsightly Skin
Feet can sometimes look a little unsightly when the rough skin starts to build up. By removing this dead skin and hydrating the feet, they will be much smoother and softer. Exfoliating also helps prevent corns and calluses which can become painful over time.

If you suffer from feet odor, this may be caused by the dead skin accumulating on your feet. After a pedicure to remove this, you’ll find your feet not only look great but smell much fresher too.

5. Deeply Hydrate Feet
The feet are often forgotten about and so easily become dry and cracked. A spa-like pedicure will restore the moisture in the feet and help them stay hydrated by using a warm footbath and therapeutic oils. This helps keep feet soft and supple which helps prevents cracks from dryness.

6. Make Your Feet Look Fabulous
Finally, a pedicure will make your feet look beautiful and healthy which is a huge confidence boost! Your skin will look soft and smooth and your polished nails will look a million dollars with your choice of pretty colors.
